The Creation of Sandwich Soul (Video)

I know readers don’t have lots of free time available to devote to perusing websites, and that’s why I usually try to keep the posts here as “short and sweet” as possible.

However, this is one of those rare exceptions to that rule.

I really hope you can take a few extra minutes out of your busy day to watch (even some of) this inspiring video about the creation of “Sandwich Soul,” the Sandwich High School Show Choir.

Under the able guidance of Melinda Lasit, Choral Director, and Kevin Lasit, Theatrical Director/Choreographer, Sandwich Soul has grown from a loosely-knit group of teenagers into an award-winning ensemble of performers –all within the span of just one academic year.

The video begins with glimpses of the first few weeks of rehearsals.

Then, starting at the 7:00 mark, you can see Sandwich Soul’s three competition numbers: Soul Sister, Lucky and Tonight-Tonight.

Beginning at 17:50, there are scenes from Sandwich Soul’s First Tour this spring, during which the group participated in a regional competition and finished in First Place!

The schools in Sandwich are filled with dedicated educators and bright, talented and enthusiastic students like those highlighted in this video . . . and it’s gratifying for me to know this website is helping them get a little more of the recognition they deserve.

Congratulations to Sandwich Soul –and many thanks to the Lasits for sharing the group’s incredible first year with all of us.

Please sit back and enjoy “The Creation of Sandwich Soul:”
